Deep Hair
Conditioner
Before
beginning, it is important to make sure that your work area
and utensils have been properly cleaned and sanitized. Bleach
water can be used to wipe down your work surfaces, and utensils
and bottles may be scalded in boiling water. Another option
is to use a sanitizer appropriate for food contact surfaces,
such as Steramine. It can be purchased at restaurant supply
stores, or food service outlets.
Water Phase
Hydrate
TSD Guar Conditioner in water and set aside for 15 to
20 minutes, giving it time to dissolve. Mix this well.
Next, heat mixture to about 155 degrees, and then mix in Phenonip,
Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Glycerin, Panthenol,
and Citric Acid.
Oil Phase
Cool Down
Phase
Combine oil,
Behentrimonium Methosulfate, and TSD Conditioning Ester
and heat until completely melted together. Add oil phase to
water phase, blending with a stick blender until completely
incorporated. Keep blender under the surface of the mixture,
being careful not to mix in air. Allow to cool for a little
bit, and then add fragrance and Hydrolyzed Silk Protein, stiring
gently, until fully incorporated into the mixture. Makes
approximately four 8 oz bottles.
