I
confess that I'm happy the holidays are past us. It feels
good to be starting a fresh new year, and to be back to
work and my comfortable routine. The only downside is that
this is the time of year that I start to battle the winter
blahs. However, I've learned a few tricks over the years
that help considerably. For beginners, I try to pick up
a bouquet of my favorite flowers often, helping to brighten
my space. Also, I hit the fruits and veggies pretty hard,
pay closer attention to my diet, and make sure to drink
plenty of water. I know it's going to be a good day when
I sit down to breakfast at my old oak kitchen table, set
with a vase of bright sunny daisies, and a cheerful placemat.
Below, I've included a recipe for one of my favorite breakfast
comfort foods.
As
members of a community that's all about natural beauty,
it's important to remember that beauty begins with good
nutrition and good mental health. No amount of our wonderful
soap and lotion creations can replace the benefits of a
healthy lifestyle.
To
help you in the battle against your winter blues, we will
be offering a sale in a couple of weeks, and a special Valentine's
drawing for a half pound (14 pieces)
box of DeBrand Fine Chocolates! Look for details

New
in 2008
While we have no new offerings for this month, let
me assure you our product line will continue to expand
in 2008. We have several new fragrances in the works,
the first of which will be a wonderful Avocado Mint
due to arrive for February. We are also working to
bring you some new packaging options, including a
new soap box design and mesh soap bags. Of course,
there is more, but we don't want to spoil all of the
surprises!

Quick & Easy Breakfast Wrap
What
I love about breakfast wraps is that they can be made
ahead, rolled up in plastic wrap, and stored in the
freezer. This is a great option for those of us who
MUST eat in the morning, insist on good nutrition,
but don't have much time to cook before going to work.
The
other thing I love about wraps, are their versatility.
You can choose your fillings to suit your individual
taste and dietary needs. I've given some of my favorite
ingredients, but feel free to come up with your own
combinations. My kids like good old fashioned bacon,
eggs, and cheese, and I also like onions and potatoes.
|
- Olive
Oil, or cooking spray
- Chopped
Red Pepper
- Sliced
Green Onions
- Eggs,
egg whites, or Egg Beaters (I watch my fat, so I
use egg whites or Beaters)
- Chopped
Cilantro
- Salt
& Pepper to taste
- Shredded
Cheese (I use 2% milkfat, because I think fat free
cheese is disgusting!)
- Whole
Grain Tortilla, warmed (you can use flour if you
prefer)
Sauté
vegetables with olive oil, or cooking spray in a nonstick
pan. Once vegetables are softened, add eggs and scramble
to desired doneness. Season with Cilantro, Salt &
Pepper. Place scrambled mixture on tortilla with some
cheese, roll up, and enjoy!
